The situation of human rights and fundamental freedoms of indigenous people – A/HRC/15/37

The present report is the third annual report submitted to the Human Rights Council by the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights and fundamental freedoms of indigenous people, James Anaya, pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 6/12. In the report, the Special Rapporteur presents a summary of the activities carried out during the second year of his mandate, including cooperation with other international and regional mechanisms in the field of indigenous rights, and the activities carried out in his four principal areas of work: promoting good practices; thematic studies; country reports; and communications relating to alleged human rights violations. The Special Rapporteur devotes the second half of the report to an analysis of corporate responsibility with respect to indigenous rights, in the framework of the international community’s expectations in that regard.
